I am up way too late, again!!

Just an update on our fun weekend.

Friday I had a Boudoir photo session - which went really great - you can find a couple of the pics on Flickr. After I left the shoot I got a flat tire which I ended up changing myself :) Mike showed me how last time we got a flat, it was a lot easier than I expected. The next day Mike took it in to get fixed and they were taking too long so he left it there went next door to the pizza place and a delivery guy backed up into him and took his bumper off!! We don't pay for any of the repairs since it is a company car but what luck huh? Now he has a rental - a 2009 Dodge Dakota complete with satelite radio, I don't think I want to give it back, lol.

I have been booking lots of Holiday Card sessions and have filled up the next 3 weeks!! Of couse I still have not taken the picture of the boys for our cards this year, hopefully I can fit that one in!!

I really should have updated sooner!! I am way behind right now. I am booking mini-sessions for Christmas Cards fast so if anyone is interested get in touch with me asap!!

Owen has been sick this week, he has an ear infection - he is doing a lot better today. Boy was he cranky!!! That is my main reason for not getting much done. I laughed and told Mike that it would be amazing what I could acomplish if I only had a sitter a couple days a week. It is impossible to work while Owen is awake. Mike is getting a new laptop soon and I am keeping his old one, I am hoping that will help me out a bit.

I have not been posting much lately, things have been crazy!! My Grandma had heart surgery a few weeks ago, things went really well but she ended up in the hospital twice after that for complications. She had a blood clot in her leg, internal bleeding, and fluid in her lungs. Thankfully she is recovering a lot better now but she has a lot ahead of her. I have been sick, Jacob was sick a week after me and now Owen is getting it. Then Mike hurt his back so bad we had to go to the ER which took 8 hours!!!!! He is still not feeling better and will have to take more time off work.

We also had a small fire from our dryer, luckily I had just bought a fire extinguisher so we were able to put it out quick. Good news is we were able to get a new washer and dryer free :)

Pretty soon things are going to have to slow down around here!!

What a looong weekend!! My Grandma had heart surgery last week and everything went well :) We were supposed to go see her this weekend but my Dad said that since Owen had a cold still it would be best if we waited. Well that was a bit of a disappointment but it ended up being ok because on Friday night I started feeling really sick. I had a fever and chills and later that night I figured out I had a urinary tract infection. I took AZO to relieve the pain at about 1am and usually it starts working in about 20 minutes (it is the stuff that makes you pee orange). It took 4 hours!!!! Mike stayed up with me the entire time and luckily Owen slept and I didn't have to nurse him until about 5am. Mike took me to the After Hours clinic Saturday morning after 3-4 hours of sleep, we drove all the way there and realized I forgot my wallet. Then we had the meanest nurse i have ever met, we were seen immediately but it took over 2 hours for them to write me the prescription. Since then I have been feeling awful, this is the first time I have been on my computer since my last post. Tomorrow is my last day of the antibiotic and I am so happy because it is making me so tired. I have never heard of an antibiotic making you tired before, this one is killing me.

We also found out that Clio only releases students during June so he is going to Clio this year. He is not happy about it but he is making the best of it. He is actually going to the same elementary school I went to before I moved to Grand Blanc.

Some happy news for me, I got a new phone. Mike's company switched to Sprint from Verizon so we need to get me switched too. I ended up with the Instinct. It is such a great phone!! It also comes in better that Verizon did out here.

We went to register Jacob for Montrose school this week, everything went great, the principle even gave us a tour. This morning the school calls me and tell us we are in Flushing school district. I have no problem sending him to Flushing but when I looked closely at the district map it says Mt Morris, no way is he going there. So I call both - Mt. Morris says we are not in that district and Flushing says Montrose. Great. So I call Montrose back and they called on our taxes, we pay Montrose City tax but Clio school tax so we are Clio schools. This is very annoying because now we are going to have to do schools of choice which means I may have to take him and pick him up every day. This is annoying for both of us, he loves riding the bus!! I called the head of transportation but she hasn't called me back. I just hope everyhing goes ok. Will update when we figure it all out!

We had a great time, it definitely was hard with Owen, he sure is a handful!! I was really hoping to take some pics to sell on Etsy. I even rented a lens :( Good thing is I got to try the lens out - Nikon 24-70 f2.8, bad news is I am not gonna be making any money from it.

I only took my camera out twice and the reception both times he cried and screamed because he couldn't play with it. I even let him play for a little while while it was off but it wasn't enough for him, he wanted to run around with it.

This was taken after we were back in Mackinaw City. Harbor View screwed something up with our luggage so we had to wait around a bit. We were planning on shopping in Mackinaw City but after walking around for 20 minutes we realized it is all of the same stuff so we hung out on the beach while Owen napped. The guy was really great about finding our bags, he made a million phone calls to get them to us.

We had a major traffic jam on the way home, it took us 2 extra hours to get back.

I saw this bumper sticker and had to take a pic of it.
It made us both feel a bit guilty because since we moved here we have been going to Wal-Mart WAY too much!! I am hoping that now we starting to get unpacked and settled we can start driving further to avoid wal-mart. We both hate going there, we just haven't had many choices lately.

Owen had his first haircut. We just trimmed the back and around the ears a bit. It is sooooo cute. He looks like such a little boy now :) We weren't gonna cut it at all but someone at the mall said he had a mullet just like his son and he was mistaken for a girl too many times. Obviously that didn't completely make our decision but I am glad we did it.

He is such a performer :) He did some dance moves for us & he can beatbox, which was so cute!

I have been very busy lately. My cousin Angelica has been over helping out with Owen while I have been non-stop proofing. She is such a huge help and Owen loves her to death. She is still the only one besides me that can get him to sleep!! He walks up to her all day long giving her kisses and hugging her legs.

Mike has a bachelor party to go to tomorrow and I am gonna take her and Owen to Great Lakes Crossing to shop a bit.

He is teething again. His 4th bottom tooth and a molar on top :( He is so cranky. On top of that he keeps pulling Jacob's hair and hitting all of us in the face. We tell him to be gentle but he thinks it is hilarious. The after he does it he will kiss you a million times which eventually turns into trying to bite your lips or cheek.

I am still so busy right now. I am done doing the free photo shoots, I definitely have enough booked! Everything is happening so fast :) !!

My to do list is HUGE!!! I am working on my contracts, price lists, templates for photo books, a logo, new business cards and revamping of my blog - it is going to be more of a photography blog - if you haven't noticed it has headed in that direction anyway. I know I have more but I just can't think of anything else right now.

I am proofing some pictures and waiting for Mike to come back from West Virginia so I thought I would do a quick post. I have been so busy lately and I am drained!!! I have 3 photography sessions lined up so far and can't wait to do them!! I feel like I haven't put any pictures of Owen up in forever so here he is:

Before I forget I have to write about this. We were all driving the other day and we asked Jacob if he wanted to go to Hooter's (this would usually make him panic and yell no, no, no) and without even thinking he yells "YES!!! But first we have to go home so I can take a shower and use my axe body wash"!!

OMG!!!!

Who replaced my 9 year old with a teenager? I should have known when he begged for the axe body wash at the grocery store. Oh and we were at Target the other day and he pulls a shirt off the rack and said "MOM, I HAVE to have this shirt!" Who would have known that a 9 yr old boys cared about their wardrobes?? Of course we bought him the shirt and he helped pick out some other summer clothes for himself.

Oh and we didn't take him to Hooters but I think we may have to soon, lol.

Owen had his 1 year Dr appointment today and everything is good - of course :) He is a tiny little thing!!! He is almost 20lbs and 29" long. He is in the 9th percentile for weight and 19th for height.

Gotta get to bed because tomorrow morning they are having free rides at the Hometown Days carnival and we are taking Jacob and Owen at 6am!! What the hell are we thinking?? LOL!!!

Owen turned 1 last Thursday!! We have been so busy I haven't had a chance to blog or edit any pictures. I still have a ton of pictures to get through and it will probably be a while before I have a chance.

We stayed home on his birthday and he played with the toys we bought him. Then on Friday we drove to Cabela's (that's where the pic below was taken) and then to Whole Foods in Ann Arbor. Saturday we had a birthday party for him at a nearby park.

Owen is hitting that toddler stage now, he cracks me up with all of the new things he is learning.

A couple of my favorite thing:

He likes to fake cough whenever he hears someone cough, he even puts his hand over his mouth.
When he is ready for bed he stands at the gate at the bottom of the stairs and cries until you take him up. He is also sleeping 6 or 7 hours straight most nights :)
He loves to go grocery shopping and he puts everything in the back of the cart after he is done playing with it, he used to just throw it on the ground.
He helps me get him dressed in the morning.
He LOVES his brother and screams in excitement when he gets off the bus.
He will still sit on my lap for long periods of time and he loves to cuddle.

I let my cousin Angelica borrow my camera, when I get it back hopefully I can get a video of him doing some of this stuff :)

I also thought I would update on Owen Nursing. I made this post recently and said he would only nurse to sleep. I swear right after I made the post he decided without me changing anything he didn't like food anymore and all he wanted to do was nurse. He went from eating a ton to refusing anything but me. He slowly transitioned back to eating and now is back to normal. He nurses to sleep and also a few extra times a day. I don't think he is going to be done anytime soon. I am just glad we made it to one :)

We went to For-Mar yesterday with Owen before we picked Jacob up from his Dad's. It was really windy and kinda chilly but we had fun.

Owen turns 1 this week!!!! Crazy! Time goes by so fast!!!

I have my 1st real photo shoot on Monday :) My Mom's cousin saw my invite for Owen's birthday and wants me to do some pictures of her daughters. I think they are 15 and 17. They are both models so that should be fun, they may even be able to teach me a thing or two!!

I also sold an announcement today, yay!!

I love this picture. I was going to use these for Owen's invite but decided on the cake pictures instead. I just edited this one yesterday. I really didn't think it would come out this cute - the background is the pole barn at my mom's house. I added a texture to the picture and it completely hid the ugliness of it, lol. The grass line against the barn kinda annoys me but owe well. I'm too lazy (or too tired from Owen's crankiness) to keep working on it right now.

Haven't posted in a while so I thought I would write a quick update.

I took pictures this week for Owen's birthday invite's and they are sooo cute :) I gave him some birthday cake and took a ton of pictures. I hope everyone can tell that is what he is eating, lol!! I haven't gotten them back from the printer yet, I was hoping they would come today but I sent them in late in the day so I think they will get here Monday. I will post the pictures after I send them out.

Angel and Andreas came over a couple days ago and are spending the night again tonight. I seriously wish they could move in, lol.

I started physical therapy this week, she said I should be pain free in a month - yeah!!!! I will need to go 3 days a week. I was so nervous about going but she was so nice and made me feel really comfortable. She said my pelvic bone is not misaligned anymore and it is my muscles and joints that are causing my problems. That is the reason my pain is not as bad as it was during my pregnancy (thank goodness). The bad news is our insurance will not cover it, I felt like crying after she told me. It was almost $300 for the first appointment! She said they are very flexible though and I can make payments when I want and I don't even have to start paying until after I am done. We have a health savings account so we put in a certain amount of money and Mike's company matches it so it is really not that big of a deal, that's what the money is for. Thanks goodness it is only a month. I am hoping after talking to her she will only charge the minimum amount. I will keep posting about my progress.

So I went to the Dr. yesterday about my pelvic bone, FINALLY!!!

I am going to start physical therapy 3 times a week. The woman they are setting me up with specializes in pelvic pain in woman. They also have a physical therapist in my Dr's office and I may need to see him also. My Dr. wants me to give it a month and go from there. She felt a misalignment when she did some of the tests on me which she said is probably the cause of the pain. I can also feel it grind together when I move a certain way. I am so happy something is getting done, I seriously just figured it was something I would have to live with.

I think every parent has those moments where you realize your kids are the actual age they are. Does this make sense? LOL!

Well, this was mine.

He decided to wash the windows, usually this cracks me up because when he is done the windows are streaky and still half wet and just a plain mess. Not anymore. It was perfect, he went back over the spots that were still dirty, dried it completely. Heck, I don't know if I could have done better.

He even did the mirrors!!

I swear I had tears in my eyes! YES, over window washing!!! He is growing up.

Sunday we went fishing and then had a picnic at a park in Frankenmuth. Last year we bought Jacob a real fishing pole and the one time we went fishing last year all he did was complain. This year he was so much fun!! Not one complaint that he didn't catch anything, he didn't get bored, he was so good and had a lot of fun!!

Owen had fun too but not until we were done fishing. The spot we went to was really nice but not a lot of space for Owen to run around. I wore him on my back in the Mei Tai until he wanted out then I spent the rest of the time chasing him down, lol.

Mike and I are going to a wedding in August and I have to wear heels. It is on Mackinaw Island and I am sure we will be walking a lot. I am wondering if I can get away with this shoe?

Anyone else have any comfortable heel suggestions for me or any stores I should check out?? I have really horrible feet, I get them from my mom, most shoes give me blisters. I am only 5'2" so I have to have a shoe with a heel, especially with the dress I have.

We have been enjoying the nice weather a lot!! Jacob didn't have school today so we spent a lot of the day playing outside. My cousins Angel and Andreas went home Monday after being here for about 3 weeks. I really really miss them. It was so nice having them around!

I really like this pic. I have to say the 50mm1.8 lens is so great!! Just wish I had auto focus sometimes, owe well.

My cousins Angel and Andreas have been staying with us for the last couple weeks. I love having them around :) Owen has gotten really attached to Angelica. She walked upstairs this morning to get ready and this is what happened to Owen!! I tried picking him up and comforting him but he just wouldn't have it. He would just walk back over to the stairs and scream up them. So what do I do? Just what any other photographer mommy would do, I snapped a couple shots, lol.

Poor baby!! He does this every time Mike and I the room too. He has the most insane temperament!! When he wants something out of his reach he points at it and screams and screams. This kid does not like to hear that he can't have something!! And when I say scream I really mean scream, he is the loudest thing I have ever heard!!

Breastfeeding Owen

Question for all of you breastfeeding mama's??

Owen doesn't nurse anymore unless I am putting him to sleep. I am wondering if this is normal for his age (almost 11 months)?? He only sleeps if I nurse him & he is nursing pretty long each time, which is good. It worries me that he is only nursing to sleep because Jacob stopped at 11 months and I don't want Owen to do the same. He was different though because I was working and he took a bottle, Owen has never used a bottle and can hardly drink out of a sippy.

Any comments/suggestions please!!!

Here is a picture I took of a bunch of my birth announcements I have on my Etsy site. Click to see it REALLY big, lol.

I had them printed to make sure the colors looked ok. I am now using WHCC for my prints. I have to say they are wonderful. What an amazing difference compared to getting prints from the rite aid, walgreens or even a place like shutterfly.

It still feels like the weekend which is good considering I usually hate Monday's.

I have been a very bad blogger and photographer the last week. Usually I take pictures every day. I think Owen teething just wore me out. I had some really bad days last week and Mike worked way too much so I was pretty much a single parent all week. I am gonna be a single parent coming up again soon because he is going on his fishing trip in the near future. Owen is doing much better though. The front tooth is in enough that he isn't so cranky and the other two don't seem to bother him too much.

I will hopefully have time to take and post some new pics this week.

He woke up this morning at 4am!!! WAY too early! He is napping right now, I should be napping with him, owe well.

After I am done here I need to make Jacob a weekly chore list. We need to get some kind of schedule going and something he can look at and do on his own. I also have a couple more birth announcements to put up on my etsy site.

He is getting 3 teeth at the same time!! Are you kidding me? He cried so much today & I started to get worried because I couldn't calm him down. Then I saw into his mouth and could see 3 teeth popping through. Ouch! No wonder he was so miserable. I let him nap on me today, it was the only way I could get him to sleep. I gave him some Tylenol and he is doing a lot better. I hope they come through fast so he feels better.

We had a great weekend! We actually had some time to just relax AND we watched a couple movies!!! We watched No Country for Old Men which was very good. Last night we all watched Enchanted which was also pretty good. Jacob has been wanting to see it for a really long time.

We drove to Jackson yesterday to see my dad and grandma for easter. They are smokers but luckily they smoked outside so it wasn't that bad. We still smelled like ashtrays when we got home. Owen now has a runny nose and I am assuming that is why. It is crazy how bad it makes you stink just being in a smokers house.

The boys got some good easter gifts. Jacob got a magnetic US states map, a star wars playstation game, a few little toys and some candy. Owen got a Haba train set, a Melissa and Doug wood puzzle and a board book about colors.

We bought most of it at The Linden Toy Shop in downtown Linden. www.lindentoys.com We have been wanting to go in there for so long, I am glad we finally did!

Owen is now walking everywhere!! He's gonna be doing cartwheels by the time he is 1, lol!!

Owe and his night owl shirt is just a plain white Carter's onesie with an iron on from Jo-Ann's. They come in a package of 2 for about $3.00. The other one we have is a lion.

Jacob is is holding one of his birthday presents from us. It is called a nightmare catcher. I wanted to get him some sort of journal and then I found this. I ordered it from here on Etsy. He loves it :) It is so cute!! He has already written a couple of his fears in it.

It says "The dark, it creeps me out" and "Heights (spelled higts) I feel like I'm going to fall" written scribbly (is that a word?) because he said it makes it look like he is shaking.

If you haven't noticed we also bought Owen a amber teething necklace. NO, not to chew on, lol.

Not much to say. Jacob has a 3 day weekend so he doesn't have school tomorrow :) I think we are driving to Jackson on Sunday to go to my grandma's for Easter. We haven't been out to see her since Owen was born.

I got a new lens yesterday. A nikkor 50mm f1.8. I LOVE it!! It is my Mothers Day gift. Mike got his Fathers Day gift early too. He is going on his fishing trip soon and got some new fishing stuff.

Jacob came up with the ide for this picture. I bought him a t-shirt a few months back with a peace sign on it. He said "mom i can't wear this, i'm not a hippy". He must have changed his mind :) The background pattern is from the baby gate on our stairs. The action I used for this picture is from Amanda's Actions, they can be found in my links on the right.

Owe man, I am sooo tired! We had a very busy and fun weekend.

Jacob's 9th birthday was Saturday, we took him and his cousin Andreas to ihop, jacob's choice, and then they saw Horton Hears a Who. Then Sunday he had a bowling party with family and some friends. He got lots of really great gifts. I think it was his best birthday yet, he thought so too.
I have some pics from the party but I don't want to post pics of someone elses kids without permission, ya know?

Owen started taking his first steps a couple days ago!! It is so funny. Here is a sequence of him walking from me to Jacob. He started to walk in the other direction but eventually made it to me. He also started waving and waves at everyone until he gets there attention. When we take him outside he will wave at all of the cars that drive by.

I think we are finally all better. Jacob went to school today. Mike stayed home again though, he got a fever yesterday and still had a fever this morning. He tried to go to work yesterday but only made it to his first appointment. This is only the 2nd time he has taken a sick day for himself in 5 years!! Pretty amazing! It tells you how sick he/we were.

Monday morning I woke up at 5am with a terrible stomach ache. I ended up throwing up (and the other >:P) until 11:30am. I called the Dr. and made an appointment- just in case. The pain didn't stop in between getting sick and I was worried about everyone else, especially Owen getting it. So I slept until my appointment and didn't get sick again, thankfully. I had a temp of 101 at the Dr. Luckily my fever broke at around 11:30 that night. Now Jacob and Mike have it a little. No fevers and they aren't in pain. Jacob seems to be doing good right now. He got up at 3 am and threw up and then 5am and has only been sick a couple times since. Mike took the day off yesterday and my mom came over to help with Owen for a little bit. I am scared to eat today, I'm not hungry yet though. I'll probably just have some chicken noodle soup later.

This is the face I get when I tell him he can't have something. One of my daily goals is to not let him find my cell phone, it goes straight in the mouth and when I take it away he cries so hard that he doesn't make any noise and I have to tell him breathe, breathe!! This kid throws the biggest fits!

He is really really hard to take pictures of anymore. I get the camera out when he is happily playing by himself and he sees me, drops whatever he is doing and crawls towards me. It is so funny though because he gets so overly excited he starts giving me kisses then claps, screams and repeats.

He likes to spit everywhere! I think it is because his tooth is coming in and the amount of drool from it. He is standing on his own now. He lets go of the furniture and just stands, then falls on his butt :) I think he will be walking soon. I will be perfectly happy if he takes his time though.

He is so hard to take pictures of right now. He is on the move and if he can't chew on my camera he just crawls away from me. He is getting one of his top teeth right now and is so needy. He will not play on his own, he wants to be on my lap all day or have me sitting on the floor with him. It is not helping me right now because I had some spasms in my back yesterday and now it hurts to move side to side or breath in :( not to mention my pelvic bone STILL hurts. That is a huge obstacle within itself. I really need to go see the dr. about it because I don't know how much longer I can take the pain and I am out of answers.

Mike was supposed to be home today around 11 or 12. It is now 6:45 and he just sent me a text message saying he is having a lot of problems at the house he is at. I was looking forward to all of us being able to hang out today, Jacob didn't have school again. Mike is taking Friday and Monday off this next week though. We are going to get some stuff done around the house, some major decluttering!!

It is so snowy out!!! School has been canceled for Jacob tomorrow so he is excited to stay up a little late. Poor Mike is in Alpena :( which is about 3 1/2 hours away) and still isn't done with his appointment. His boss called and said he could stay another night there - he stayed last night too. I hope he does because I will worry about him until he gets home. They just had something flash across the tv that said all of the secondary roads are impassable.

Owen learned how to clap. I think he learned from singing patty cake with him so much, lol! The funny thing is he will clap when he is really happy and really mad.

This was Owen's favorite toy today :)

He is wide awake right now. We drove out to the Salvation Army tonight in White Lake and then went out to dinner. On our way home we got a flat tire. Luckily we were right by a rest area and made it to the parking lot. It was only 15 degrees and we had to empty the trunk because it is full of Mike's stuff for work so we could get the spare. I am just thankful we didn't have to stop on the expressway!! That would have been horrible!!!

I feel like I am posting the same pictures over and over again. Too many portraits. It is hard to take any other photo's inside my living room. I can't wait for warmer weather so we can go outside and take some pictures. I am really trying not to hate the winter so much, Mike is helping with that, I am trying to let his good habits wear off on me. He doesn't seem to have those useless emotions that consume me sometimes, like hating winter even though there is nothing you can do about it.

We had another busy busy weekend. Jacob needed new shoes. Ugh, what an absolute nightmare!! We went to 4 or 5 different stores on Saturday and tried on way too many shoes. His last pair were Payless cheapies and wore out before he grew out of them. This time we ignored the price tags, luckily the pair he picked out were only 25. His last ones were just slip on canvas and we wanted to get him a pair with laces and more support. The poor kid still can't tie his shoes. We have tried to teach him and even bought him a step by step book with practice laces and he still can't get it. We gave up and hoped he would eventually learn - uh yeah - didn't work. Feel free to leave any suggestions for us in the comments if you have any advice for teaching your kids on how to tie. Sunday was fun, we went to Plymouth to see my friend Nicole and went to the ice sculpture festival with her.

I told Mike that we shouldn't make any plans for next weekend because we are always so exhausted on Monday from our crazy weekends. He agreed. Then we made plans to go to Tree City Diapers in Ann Arbor because we need a couple more diapers, lol. I told him we can order them online - it is only about $3.00 for shipping - but he wants to go. I don't mind though we can't go to Ann Arbor without going to Whole Foods anyway :)

Owen was not cranky at all today :) Lets hope that it lasts the rest of the week because I don't want to go through what I did last week again!! **fingers crossed**

I am so happy it is Friday, it was a tough week. Owen has been so cranky. I was finally able to sing him to sleep. Yesterday he took a 4 hour nap. He woke up after 2 and when I picked him up he fell back asleep so I just held him the rest of the time. I knew if I put him back down he would have woke up and I really think he needed the rest and I needed some quiet :)

I REALLY needed this tonight!!

Owen was so cranky today. Sometimes I think he gets annoyed just being with me. I still think he may be getting teeth. He just screams, not really crying, just yelling. Jacob got so annoyed he went upstairs, he said he couldn't take it anymore. I called him down shortly after and he was able to get him calmed down by just sitting on the floor with him. I felt bad asking him but I tried everything. He was happy he was able to calm him down though, he ended up playing with him for a really long time. When Mike finally came home (late night tonight) Owen was so happy to see him. He is a much happier kid when we are both home. In the picture above Owen had the hiccups and Mike was pretending he did to and he was laughing so hard.

I can't believe he is 8 months already!! He is definitely (a word I misspell often) not an easy going kid, like I have said before I really hope he is getting teeth. I was in tears tonight when Mike called to tell me he was coming home. Then I got the news he was going out to dinner with his boss, ugh. Not something he can help and if it was me I would be going out to dinner too but the news just didn't help the situation. I got through it though. Anyway, Owen is getting around way to good. He started actually crawling on all fours at 5 months then pulling himself up to standing holding the furniture at 6, 7 months walking around the living room holding the furniture. It is all too soon for my liking, lol!!! Usually we can't wait for these milestones but I think I would like him to slow down a bit , lol!!

By the way I will post pictures of Jacob as soon as he lets me take them.

Mike and I are gonna vote in the primary's tomorrow, neither of us have done that before. Well we just found out that Obama isn't going to be on the ballot.

This is taken from an email I got today, I also looked it up on a couple news sites because it seems really stupid to me.

If you choose a Democratic ballot:
The candidates listed on the ballot are as follows: Hillary Clinton, Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinich. Chris Dodd will also be listed but has withdrawn his candidacy. Candidates John Edwards and Barack Obama are not present on the ballot, so voters are advised to select "uncommitted" if either candidate is their selection. Furthermore, write-in candidates will not be accepted, as candidates are required to file paperwork confirming that they will accept write-ins, and no candidates have taken this action. Ballots with candidate write-in votes will be destroyed.

Here is some more information on it. I have to say I am very disappointed in Michigan right now for this and I think it is more important than ever to vote tomorrow.

I finally got a new camera today :)

It is the Nikon D40x. It is a 10mp so I will be able to print some really big pictures :)

I have only taken a few pics with it, will upload some soon. I am shooting with the flash because I still need to figure out the camera better but they are coming out so much better than my old camera.

I also got some film developed from some pictures I took with my dad's old 35mm Canon. I really love them and I will definitely be using it a lot more. They are really grainy and the camera sat for about 8 or 9 years so it makes the pictures look like they have a lot of texture. I actually found a program from a ballet recital I was in from 1988 in the camera case, lol.

Owen - I changed this one to black and white.

A Dandelion - I cropped and brightened the color a bit on this one.

A recent study shows that babies are being exposed to a potentially harmful chemical every time they ingest liquid formula, and that all major U.S. baby formula manufacturers have admitted to use of the plastic's chemical in their cans.

The investigation by the Environment Working Group (EWG) has revealed that the toxic chemical Bisphenol-A (BPA) is used to line nearly all infant formula cans, and can even be found in many plastic baby bottles as well.

Researchers say BPA acts like the hormone estrogen and can affect a developing brain and reproductive system. The study shows that all major U.S. manufacturers of formula use the chemical, including Nestlé, Ross-Abbot (Similac), MeadJohnson (Enfamil), Hain-Celestial (Earth's Best), and PBM (sold under various names at Walmart, Kroger, Target and other stores).

Speaking of breastfeeding. I have had lots of problems with Owen. He did not take to breastfeeding from the beginning so it was a struggle the first few weeks. I also (with both kids) has very sore, cracked and bleeding nipples for about 2-3 weeks. Many times I cried through nursings from the pain. It is possible to get through it though!! Also when my milk came in my breasts were so engorged he had nothing to latch on to. But thanks to a little research and these from Babies r Us I was able to get through that also. Now he has a couple teeth and for 2 days he bit me about 10 times while nursing. OUCH!!! I did some research from The baby book by Dr. Sears and The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding from The Leche League and he hasn't bit me in 2 days :) Even thought I call these things problems they really aren't, it is just part of breastfeeding. I don't think you can decide to breastfeed without knowing you might come across a few complications.

I can't even tell you how many people told me that when he bites me it is time for me to stop. Chances are he might bite me again but I will get through it because he is worth it :)

I have NO idea what happened with my post from a couple days ago. I don't use Internet Explorer. I use Firefox and when I looked at my blog the post came up normal but then Zoe wrote a comment saying that she failed spy school. HUH? I didn't understand but then I decided to check my blog in IE. Apparently I somehow switched my whole post to web dings. Oops :) Well now it is back to normal. I will try to not let that happen again!! We went to the Dr. today and he decided to not do anything about his growth which he said was a granuloma. He did cut it open because he thought it needed to be drained. I told him nothing came out of it but whatever - he did it anyway. He said it would go away on its own in 4-6 weeks. Great! Anyway an easy way of explaining a granuloma is that it is his body's way of reacting (overreacting actually) to his infection. The thing that sucks is how painful it is for him :( I just hope it goes away sooner than expected.

Just thought I would update and let everyone know what is going on around here. Jacob has to have what the Dr. thinks is a tumor growing from underneath his thumb nail removed tomorrow morning. He had an infection on him thumb underneath his nail called Paronychia (which is just basically the medical term for infection around the nail, lol) and this thing grew from under his nail. He had his thumb lanced and drained on Friday at the hospital and it has been growing since. It is causing him so much pain he can't do anything with his right hand. Hopefully we can find out more on what it is after tomorrow and have it heal quickly!!

Just thought I would make an attempt to write today. Still trying to get healthy around here. Mike ended up getting sick then I got sick again Saturday night. I have had a sore throat all week. I did go to the Dr. today to make sure it wasn't strep and it isn't so that is good news! She said it is taking around 7-10 days to get better. No one else has it so I am happy about that. We went xmas shopping last weekend and got about 95% of it done!! So glad that is out of the way! Haven't taken too many pics lately - here are a couple of Owen from today.

He sits up so well and is scooting around WAY to fast, lol!! He is not so much a mama's boy anymore, he actually lets me leave the room without freaking out! Today though Mike left the room while I was with him and he cried. Mike would pop his head in and he would stop. He sure does let you know what he wants!

He also had his first food. Can you tell what he thought of it???

We tried for about 3 days. Apples and banana's. He wasn't interested so we are gonna wait a while longer. He also had his 6 month well baby visit this week and everything is good. She is also not worried about him eating either so that is good.

Just to let you know, if you watch the other video's 1st the others are from my cell phone (very bad quality) 2nd the cat was not harmed. i swear he loves his fur pulled. he will sit there and purr the whole time and if Owen stops pulling on him he will rub up against him waiting for more!! He is a weird kitty!!

What a week!! Everyone was sick except for Mike of course, he never gets sick. That is a good thing for us to have one healthy person at home but he was out of town for work the whole time. Jacob missed 3 days of school and Owen and I are still battling a cough! Brought me back to my single mom days with Mike being gone. Owen is also getting his first tooth right now so he has double the pain. He only likes sitting up right now, which I am assuming he can breath better in that position. Luckily he can sit up on his own now, I just have to put him there and he stays for quite a while without falling. He has also lost his voice and when he cries or talks not much comes out, poor kid!

I am working for my Uncle right now making an Ebay template for him and doing some other Ebay things for him - he sells vintage clothes. I will post about it when I am all finished. It is difficult working from home though. I barely have enough time to bathe let alone sit at the computer for hours. I need a Nanny, lol!!! I love doing this kind of work so it is actually fun for me, the bonus is that I am getting paid. So if I am not heard from in a while (like that is unusual for me to not keep up on my blogging) you will know why.

I did find out some good news, my Mom had me send her links to some natural, lead and PVC free toy web sites and both my grandparent, my uncle, and my mom are all going to order from it :) Mike and I have decided to order from either http://www.oompa.com/ or http://www.moolka.com/.

We got Jacob the Guitar Hero 3 game and I can't wait to play it with him, lol!!

Now off to do work for my Uncle before Owen wakes up again!

Jacob was a werewolf and Owen a skunk. Owen cracks me up in this picture!! What a crappy night for trick-or-treating, it was rainy and windy. Mike took Jacob around the sub while I passed out candy. He got lots of yummy stuff that Mike and I picked through while he was busy eating the pizza we ordered. He said he thinks it is the 1st time in a year that we have ordered pizza. LOL!

Here's a pic of a horse from an organic apple orchard we found last weekend just a few miles from our house. They are open year round too. They sell organic chicken and pork also.
