I thought I would write a quick update since I had a midwife appointment today and i don't know if I will feel like posting again before the baby is born. The baby is perfect and ready to come out any time now :) Me on the other hand am not doing so good. This has been a completely different pregnancy compared to Jacob - he was a breeze!! I have a problem with my pelvic bone rubbing together when I basically do anything and it has pretty much put me on bed rest :( Not because I am not supposed to do anything but because I can't. I have to keep my hips wrapped in an ace bandage to try to get it to stay together but it is really uncomfortable. This problem will not affect my labor or delivery except causing a bit more pain but with a drug free birth are you really gonna notice another pain, lol?? Here is some basic info on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphysis_pubis_dysfunction. I also found out I have pupp (or however it is spelled) which is just a skin rash pregnant woman get. I was wondering why i was so itchy, lol. All of this will go away after the birth so lets hope that is soon!!!

I also met the other midwife who will be attending the birth and she is great!! Luckily I didn't also meet with her when choosing a midwife because she is really nice and easy to talk to, I would have had a hard time deciding which to go with :) She also had the pelvic pain during her pregnancy so she knows what I am going through and had some great advice.

Jacob has been so wonderful during my pregnancy. He asks to put lotion on my belly, gives me back massages, he even brushed my hair when i got out of the shower today and I didn't even ask him!!! He told the midwives about all of the stuff he does for me today, he is so proud of himself. They told him he is going to be a great help to me during labor. He is so nurturing, I am so excited to see him be a big brother!

Everyone keep happy labor thoughts for me so I can get this baby out soon :)

I had SPD with my last pregnancy.. It was horrible...

one thing that helped was to lay on my back with my legs bent, have DH hold my knees together and for me to try force them apart... or the opposite... have him try to push them together and me resisting.. (I forget which helped the most)

Anyway... It really made difference for me... too bad I only found out about it at the end...

Water birth was amazing also (I am not sure if you are planning one)

Have a great and happy birth!

Christina,
Hope you have an easy birth..and a very memorable one. I congratulate you for finding and using an alternative method for childbirth, for your interest in natural means for healthy living, and for having the good fortune to have a supportive husband and son!
May I add my name to your support list? (It should already be on it since I'm your Grandmother, but I was just asking...LOL)
Much Love to you all,
"Maimy"
